Northeast Bank Donates to SeniorPlus Meals on Wheels Program

Continuing its support for community members and programs, Northeast Bank has donated $1000 to SeniorPlus for their Meals on Wheels program.
The Meals on Wheels program from SeniorPlus delivers daily meals to homebound seniors in the Franklin, Oxford, and Androscoggin County areas with the support of volunteers and donations. Northeast Bank’s contribution will be used to purchase food, pay for meal preparation and volunteer mileage reimbursement.
“Our Meals on Wheels program is a great service that we can provide to seniors in need, and donations like this one from Northeast Bank are essential to keeping it alive,” says Connie Jones, Director of Community Services for SeniorPlus.
“A part of our mission as a community bank is to be actively involved and supportive of the programs and services that help build our communities and serve people. Senior Plus is does so much good for our area seniors and we’re just happy to be able to support them,” says Jim Delamater, President of Northeast Bank.

SeniorsPlus served 78,000 nutritious meals last year to homebound older adults and adults with disabilities who are unable to prepare them for themselves. The meals provide 1/3 of their recommended daily nutrition, and a safety check and friendly hello from the volunteer who delivers the meals.
