Northeast Bank Donates to Good Shepherd Food Bank

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and concern for its community, Northeast Bank donated $500 to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.
“The support of local businesses is vital to the Food-Bank,” commented Rick Small, executive director of Good Shepherd Food Bank. “Generous donations like this one from Northeast Bank will help us to continue to address the most basic needs of more than 175,000 of our neighbors - hunger.”
The donation will help to provide nearly 2,000 meals to those that are struggling with hunger. Good Shepherd Food-Bank works with a network of more than 600 partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens and after school programs, to feed more than 36,000 Mainers each week.

Good Shepherd Food-Bank is Maine’s primary and largest food bank. Good Shepherd aims to end hunger in Maine through their strong relationships with other Maine organizations that create greater efficiency of food distribution. Through effective and efficient partnerships, the Good Shepherd Food-Bank makes the most of its resources to serve the hungry at community soup kitchens, food pantries, senior services, rehabilitation centers, shelters and children/youth services.
